A devised theatre performance about the experience of the death of an intimate partner. Using film, sound, multiple narratives and sourced, real-life stories, the work explores the fragile subjects of grief, mortality, taboo, love, memory, and liminality.
This project brings four long-term artistic collaborators – Astrid Pill, Ingrid Voorendt, Jason Sweeney, and Zoë Barry – back together in their first collective work in a decade. All the artists bring interests in gender, melancholy, blurring of the lived and the imaginary, and dark comedy, into their own practices and this work.
Across Adhocracy, the team will all come together for the first time to focus on the dramaturgy and liveness of the work across a montage of text, performance, film, and sound; and to further explore the philosophy of the work’s approach to truth and fiction.
