A multidisciplinary performance that questions the contemporary ethics of violence, power, and war. The work is centred around a provocative examination of the sacred Indian text of Bhagavad Gita and the seemingly contradictory calls to action it has inspired.
Raghav Handa is an Australian choreographer and performer of Indian heritage whose work combines traditional kathak principles and contemporary movement to create multifaceted explorations of modern Australian cultural identity.
For Adhocracy, Raghav will work with his collaborator, acclaimed Australian composer and sound designer James Brown, to develop the sonic and visual building blocks of the work, including histories of nationalistic pageantry, the effect of voice, and the embodiment and musicality of the text.
