An ambitious and durational live art trilogy about the limits and possibilities of work-life balance and care economies. For Adhocracy, the artists are experimenting with a participatory, one-on-one experience of para-fictional welfare bureaucracies.
Harriet Gillies and Marcus McKenzie each make post-internet performance works that explore sex, death and capitalism. Their collaboration began at Victorian Trades Hall under the 8-Hour Day banner.
During Adhocracy, the artists are focusing on contextual and participatory research, taking a bite-size section of their larger work to test with audiences in intimate exchanges; and exploring the radical lineage of Waterside and Port Adelaide, Kaurna Yerta, through interviews and conversation.
